One of the most common questions people have when buying an online course or joining an online coaching program is: "How long does it take to get results?"
Sometimes people are looking for the "average" result, or the "typical" timeline. And it's perfectly understandable to want to know this — you're investing your time and money, and you want a realistic expectation of what's ahead.
The honest answer? It depends — and here's why that's not a cop-out.
Why There's No Universal Timeline
Every person who walks through our program brings a completely different set of circumstances. Your starting point, your available hours each week, your prior experience, your market, your willingness to implement feedback, your risk tolerance — all of these variables compound on each other. Two people can go through the exact same program and see results six months apart from one another, simply because their situations are different.
There's also a practical reality: we have no reliable way to track results across the board. We don't have a window into your business six months after you finish a course. We're not watching your revenue dashboard or your client roster grow. Most of the time, we only hear from people when something exceptional happens — when they land a big client, hit a milestone, or have a breakthrough they want to share.
What Testimonials Actually Tell You
When you see testimonials or reviews on our website — or on anyone's website, for that matter — you should understand what you're looking at: a highlight reel. The people who report back to us, post in our community, or send us a message are almost always the ones who got a standout result and are excited to celebrate it.
That doesn't mean the results aren't real. They are. But it does mean the people sharing them are not representative of everyone who took the course. The person who made modest progress, or who bought the course and never finished it, or who finished it but hasn't implemented yet — those people aren't sending us emails. So the picture you get from testimonials is naturally skewed toward the best outcomes.
What Actually Drives Results
If there's one thing we've observed across all the students and clients we've worked with, it's that results are almost always tied to a handful of consistent factors:
- Speed of implementation. The people who take action quickly — even imperfectly — tend to see results faster than those who wait until everything feels "ready."
- Consistency over intensity. Showing up regularly and doing the work steadily almost always beats a burst of effort followed by a long break.
- Willingness to ask for help. Students who engage, ask questions, and use the support available tend to move faster than those who try to figure everything out alone.
- Market fit and timing. Some businesses and niches are positioned to grow faster than others. External conditions matter, even when everything else is in place.
None of this is meant to discourage you. It's meant to give you an honest framework so you can set realistic expectations and make the most of what you're investing in.
